Sasol has been the leading custodian in sponsoring women's football. The South African Football Association(SAFA) and Sasol officially launched the sponsorship with the national team in 2009. Since last year, the Sasol-sponsored Banyana Banyana have been working hard to ensure they qualify for the African Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) which takes place in May 2022.
TGPR, working with sister Agency EXP, aims to:
To create awareness, hype and excitement about Banyana Banyana’s AWCON qualifier matches (Home & Away) – Encouraging South Africans to get behind the team – for all key tournaments e.g. AWCON and FIFA’s Women’s World Cup
To profile Sasol as the leading brand that is behind Banyana Banyana (Powering Women’s Football)
Use the #Limitless mantra as a conversation means with the aim to 1) inspire and promote inclusivity 2) Elevate players as role models and catalysts for change, sharing human interest stories that emotionally connect with fans and the public at large.
To date, TGPR has implemented a robust media relations plan, seeking to profile the team and its successful AWCON qualifier campaign. This includes creating and disseminating content in addition to scheduling regular interviews for the coach and players.
